How To Make Hemp Milk
Luckily for you, if you don’t want to go to a store to buy hemp milk, you can make it at home. And the best part is, it’s pretty easy to do.
Here is our hemp milk recipe, a basic template which you can adjust and customize to whatever you like.
- ½ cup of hemp seeds (hulled hemp seeds or shelled)
- 3 cups of water (less water creates a thicker consistency)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup and/or honey
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Flavour additives like cocoa powder or cinnamon (optional)
- Some cheesecloth or a coffee filter (optional)
- A large container (for storing)
How To Make
- Combine your hemp seeds, water, sweetener, and vanilla in a blender. Blend for 1 minute or until a smooth consistency is achieved.
- When you get your desired consistency, taste the milk to see if any adjustments need to be made. At this point, you may want to add any additional sweeteners or flavour enhancers.
- Optional: If you’re looking to refine your beverage further, use some cheesecloth or a coffee filter to strain the milk. But keep in mind, this may reduce the nutritional content of your milk.
- Pour your milk into a container and refrigerate.
